We met at Wollaton Park and it turned out to be a beautiful day. Wollaton Park is a great place for portraits and I often come here for engagement portrait sessions and family portrait sessions. Throughout all seasons, Wollaton Park offers a variety of backdrops for photographs and is also a beautiful place to wander around.

It was the first time I had met Mike and it was clear from today that Emma and Mike are still in love and are a great couple. Thank you to Emma and Mike for asking me to take your portraits.

Using natural light on a lifestyle portrait session means I’m not restricted by my son’s movement and I can steer him into the best position so far as lighting is concerned. When you have as many photos taken as my son does, I have to try something new each time for outdoor portraits and I think the highlight for him was at the end when I climbed a tree to get a different angle for a few photos. Seeing mummy up a tree seemed to amuse him and allowed me to capture some beautiful portraits.

As you will see, I have new website design. The bulk of the work has been done but I’m still tweaking with it and there’s a lot more to be done behind the scenes which I will be working on. I will also be transferring all of my old blog posts over to my new blog so that visitors can view more of my work but if you would like to talk to me about anything, please feel free to contact me.

The rain did stop later in the day and we managed to quickly take some photos outside of Town Hall before sunset.

As you can see, Gemma looked stunning and her beautiful lace dress had the most amazing veil! I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Gemma and Angus for choosing me to be their wedding photographer. It was a pleasure to be part of their day and I wish them all the happiness in their future together.

I would also like to say a big thank you to the usher for rounding everyone up so quickly for the group photos – you were a star!

I have quite a lot of portrait sessions to blog from the summer/autumn so to get the ball rolling this session is one of two gorgeous cousins which took place in the summer at Rufford Park. I first photographed the little girl in these photos when she was about 1 year old so it was wonderful to see her again and also meet her cousin. It was quite a cloudy day which also saw a few light showers but we captured some lovely photos of them both before we needed to take cover. We tried a few different backdrops for the photographs but it was definitely the steps that seemed to excite the children and got them giggling a lot!

It was a pleasure to photograph the children and meet everyone and I would like to thank them for choosing me to be their photographer, not only for their portraits but for a family wedding.

I would like to take this opportunity of wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and prosperous 2012 and thank everyone who booked me as their photographer in 2011. It has been an absolute pleasure meeting everyone and I look forward to photographing lots more lovely people after the New Year!

The little kitten in this photo is Sabrina, a new addition to our family, and we are totally smitten with her, especially my son. I do have some more photos of her which I will be blogging in the new year …. I think I’ve found myself another model!
