Civil partnership wedding of Aimee and Rebecca – Royal York Hotel

Earlier in March, I had the pleasure of photographing Aimee and Rebecca’s civil partnership wedding at the Royal York Hotel in York.

This was my first visit to the York so I went up the day before to have a look at the venue and also took the opportunity to have a quick look around the York city itself which I think requires another visit when I have more time to shop!

Aimee and Rebecca both now live in Nottingham but met each other at university in York hence they choose to go back to this beautiful city for their wedding.

Aimee and Rebecca both had their hair and make-up done together in a suite at the Royal York Hotel but when it was time to step into their dresses, Aimee went to her mum’s room to put her dress whilst Rebecca stayed in the suite to put hers on as they had not seen each other’s dresses.

Once ready, Aimee and Rebecca met again so they saw each other before walking down the aisle. and following a lovely ceremony, a drinks reception followed.

The Royal York Hotel is right next to York Station and we went briefly into the station for a few photos.

Aimee and Rebecca did an official line up before guests were seated for their wedding breakfast meal and, ater the meal, they surprised their guests with a firework display.

Shortly after this, the evening entertainment commenced kicked off with Aimee and Rebecca’s first dance together.

As you will see from the photos below, Aimee and Rebecca both looked beautiful and make such a lovely couple.

I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Aimee and Rebecca for choosing me to be their wedding photographer. It was a pleasure to be part of your day and I wish you continued happiness together in your future.

Below are a selection of photos from their wedding day. Family and friends are welcome to share the post by clicking on the social media link at the end of the post.

Wedding Photography – Engagement Shoot at Wollaton Hall

I recently met Arvinder and Hardeep for an engagement shoot at Wollaton Hall and Park in Nottingham.

Just as we arrived at Wollaton Hall, the heavens opened and it was torrential rain which didn’t look promising initially. However, with a little patience fast forward 30 minutes the rain stopped allowing us to walk around the grounds at Wollaton Hall and Park to capture photos of Arvinder and Hardeep.

Wollaton Park is just starting to show signs of Spring in some areas and, loving blossom trees as I do, I was really pleased that one of the blossom trees was in bloom providing a really pretty backdrop for some of their photos.

I loved Arvinder’s dress and the colour worked superb with the backdrops at Wollaton Park. As you can see from the photos Arvinder is beautiful and they make a wonderful couple.

Unfortunately, I am not available for the dates of their wedding which is such a shame as I would have loved to have been part of their wedding day too. I was, however, very flattered that they still choose me to photograph their engagement shoot which was a pleasure from start to finish and I hope the photos provide joy to each other and their families.

I received a lovely thank you message from Arvinder and would like to share a review which with you:-

“When looking for a photographer for our ‘engagement shoot’, I came across Alison Edwards. I feel really lucky to have stumbled across a photographer who is so talented but is also so humble and lovely with it. From the moment I made initial contact with Alison she has been extremely professional yet very laid back and approachable at the same time. Nothing is a problem for her and she has done everything she can do to meet some of my very specific needs. The shoot itself was a pleasure and Alison made us feel totally at ease. We are so pleased with the end result and cannot recommend her enough.”

Thank you for choosing me to photograph such a special time in your lives. It was a real pleasure meeting you and I wish you all the best for your wedding day and future together.

If you would like to view more engagement shoots, you can do so by clicking here. If you are having your wedding at Wollaton Park, I have photographed a wedding here too which you can view by clicking here.

Thank you for taking the time to look and if you would like to book your engagement shoot or wedding with me, please get in touch.

Pre-wedding/Engagement shoot in Nottingham with Jen and David

Although I’ve already photographed weddings this year, the wedding season starts fully for me in April and I’ve been preparing for those with pre-wedding shoots.

Jen and David booked me for their wedding last year and it was lovely to see them again recently to go over their wedding plans. We met in Nottingham and chose a few quiet locations around The Park to capture some photos of them together before their big day.

Jen and David make a great couple and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next month. Until then, below are a few photos from their photo session. Family and friends are welcome to share the post on their social media pages by clicking on the link at the end of the post.

Jen gave me so lovely feedback after viewing her photos:-

“I love them! I’m just going to stare at them a few more times and try and pick my favourites.”
