Newborn baby photography in Nottingham – 6 day old baby girl

Welcome to the world! A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful 6 day old baby girl.

The photo session took place at their family home and her proud mum and dad seemed to have settle into parenthood quite comfortably. Although their baby girl took a while to settle for the photos, once she did go to sleep she was in a deep sleep which allowed us to change hats and headbands for the photos.

When I photograph newborn babies, I always allow plenty of time as it’s impossible to predict how long they will take to settle and, if it does take a while, this is never a concern for me.

Her slightly older cousin popped a long during the photo session for a quick photo too so I’ve added a photo of her at the end of the blog post.

If you are interested in booking a newborn photo session, I recommend that these are booked in advance working with your due date and, if necessary, we can rearrange it if your baby arrives early or late.

SWPP Licentiateship in Photography

Last month, I was awarded Licentiateship in Photography with the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP). I submitted a panel of 20 portrait images which were judged by several judges who grade the images in competition with professional photography standards rather than a client’s point of view.

A few of the judges commented on the panel and saying they ”very impressed with this panel”, that they were a “charming set of images” and “a little different from the normal submission”….I’m quite happy to be different!

I was delighted when I heard I had qualified and wanted to share with you the panel of portrait images which I submitted.

Whilst there never seems to be enough time to fit in everything I want to pursue my work further this is one of the items on my “to do” list ticked off successfully …. hopefully I’ll get round to successfully ticking off more at some point this year!

Wedding at Prestwold Hall Leicestershire of Ellie and Duncan

Last month I had the pleasure of photographing Ellie and Duncan’s wedding at Prestwold Hall in Leicestershire.

The day started for me with Ellie and her bridesmaids at Prestwold Hall and, following a beautiful service, drinks and canapes were served.

Although the day started off quite sunny although it wasn’t long before the winds picked up and the rain showed an appearance. We just managed to capture some photos in the gardens at Prestwold Hall but the wind was so strong we decided to do the remainder under cover. Even if it rains at Prestwold Hall there are a few places undercover to capture some lovely photos.

The speeches were great fun and lots of laughter was shared amongst the guests.

Into the evening, Ellie and Duncan did their first dance to Mr. Brightside by the Killers (which has since become top of my playlist!) and it didn’t take long for the rest of their guests to join them on the dance floor where everyone really looked like they were having a great time.

As you will see from the photos below, Ellie is stunning and looked beautiful in her wedding dress. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Ellie and Duncan for choosing me to be their wedding photographer. It was a pleasure to be part of your day and I wish you all the happiness in the world together.

Pre-wedding shoot at Highfields Park Nottingham – Sarah and Matt

05.10.13

Ok, my next pre-wedding shoot is that of Sarah and Matt.

It was a beautiful sunny day when we met for their photo shoot at Highfields Park in Nottingham which provided some beautiful morning light for their photos.

Sarah and Matt are also getting married this month and I’m really looking forward to being part of their wedding part of which will be at the Carriage Hall. Their wedding will be quite a varied day in terms of the locations for their photographs and they have arranged some cute props so I’m really looking forward to this.
