Quorn Country Hotel – Wedding Fayre

Hi everyone,

If anyone received a Valentine’s proposal yesterday (or, of course, is already engaged!), I will be exhibiting at the Quorn Country Hotel this Sunday the 19th February 2012 11am-4pm. It’s free entrance and there will be a host of wonderful suppliers in the wedding industry for you to meet. I will have some sample albums for you to look through so please stop by and say hello.

Quorn Country Hotel – Charnwood House, Leicester Road, Quorn, Leicestershire, LE12 8BB

Thanks.
Alison

Portrait Photography Nottingham – On location at Wollaton Park

Today’s post is a portrait session of Emma and Mike which took place towards the end of Summer last year. Emma is an excellent photographer whom I met about a year ago. We have become friends over this time and she has also assisted me on weddings. Emma has been married to Mike for sometime and, for her husband’s birthday, she asked if I would do a portrait session for them as they rarely have photos taken of them together.

We met at Wollaton Park and it turned out to be a beautiful day. Wollaton Park is a great place for portraits and I often come here for engagement portrait sessions and family portrait sessions. Throughout all seasons, Wollaton Park offers a variety of backdrops for photographs and is also a beautiful place to wander around.

It was the first time I had met Mike and it was clear from today that Emma and Mike are still in love and are a great couple. Thank you to Emma and Mike for asking me to take your portraits.

If you would like to check my availability for a portrait session or wedding, please feel free to contact me via my website or telephone me on 07977 499473.

Here are a few of the photos from their portrait session.

Lifestyle Portrait Photography – Nottingham

It’s been a while since I blogged portraits of my son. Although I have been taking lots of photographs of him, I haven’t had an opportunity to blog them but my next post is one of my favourites. During the Autumn season, we ventured out into some nearby woodland area for lifestyle portraits. We didn’t have long as it was starting to rain but it held off long enough to get some new portraits which are now on my wall!

Using natural light on a lifestyle portrait session means I’m not restricted by my son’s movement and I can steer him into the best position so far as lighting is concerned. When you have as many photos taken as my son does, I have to try something new each time for outdoor portraits and I think the highlight for him was at the end when I climbed a tree to get a different angle for a few photos. Seeing mummy up a tree seemed to amuse him and allowed me to capture some beautiful portraits.

If you would like to view my portrait portfolio, please click here and to book a portrait session, please contact me. Here are selection of my favourites from the session:-

Beautiful portraits of your little boy Alison! He’s a real little model & it looks like you’ve captured him very well. Bet he loved you climbing the tree, the things you do to get a good shot:)

Update on website

Hi everyone

As you will see, I have new website design. The bulk of the work has been done but I’m still tweaking with it and there’s a lot more to be done behind the scenes which I will be working on. I will also be transferring all of my old blog posts over to my new blog so that visitors can view more of my work but if you would like to talk to me about anything, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks.
Alison
